The intel announcement was timed to coincide with the Qualcomm ARM reveal, and should therefore be taken with a dose of salt.Certainly possible, and I agree that they are riding this ARM/AI hype for all it’s worth. That said, my understanding has been that intel has consistently dropped the ball when it comes to efficiency. I wouldn’t necessarily trust them more than Qualcomm. They both have something to sell us, it’ll be very interesting to see how this all shakes out.Yea the ARM hype will crumble. It's such a typical hypetrain which will derail when 'the next thing' comes around the corner half a year later. How do people get along with the small screen of a 13" Macbook Air? I tried using a 14" Intel Laptop and found the screen too small. I upgraded to a 16" Laptop and just about find it acceptable running Bitwig. So a 15" Macbook Air would be the bare minimun for my needs using Bitwig.
The hype around Windows on Arm may be short lived,as Intel is saying that the battery efficiency of its upcoming Q3 2024 "Lunar Lake" CPU will be 20% better than Arm, as well as being more 1.4x more powerful.
I agree with the display sizes. I love my Dell xps 17'
