So I bought a bunch of pedals and a cheap telecaster for this new project and swoppes my p90 LP for a HB LP.
We get to the studio on Sat and find…studio booked out by another muso ! So no-go..next session not for 2 weeks at least.
FML!
Just goes to show re my gear buying …”don’t count yer chickens before they have hatched”!![D'oh! :dog:]()
Tbh I was a bit pissed but luckily had jammed with a work client of mine earlier that day who plays drums also ( I’m a support worker and client is autistic spectrum ) as he had access to his shitty old drum kit.
Now Turns out my client is actually better a drummer than the guy with the studio. He was amazing!
And the studio guy tells me Sat as an aside re the music we’ve been raving about “ yknow I like the Stooges/ White Stripes etc yeah.. but.. the drumming is a bit ‘straight’ for me .. I’d really to play early Punk music like XYZ bands (whom I’ve never heard of)
Is it just me or is it ALWAYS this way getting a band together / jamming . I’ve found this to be the case in many “music projects” with Ppl I’ve started jamming with. I don’t think this “let’s meet up once a week for a session and do music homework in between “ approach works at all.
I think to be really good and get tight you gotta all live together in a house and play every single day together. The Stooges did it and so did the Beatles actually. It’s that 10,000 hours to mastery thing imo …
Thoughts / Opinions fellas ?
