Hello Everyone!

As we approach the new year, I’d like to propose a MuLab New Year’s resolution—one that we can all contribute to and work on together. Jo’s goal, which I believe many of us share, is to grow the MuLab user base. While there are many marketing strategies to explore, I believe MuLab’s biggest opportunity lies in improving its educational resources.

By this, I mean creating a better manual, templates, presets, tutorial videos, and building an ecosystem that makes it easier for new users to learn and enjoy MuLab.

Of course, this might seem like a daunting task for one person, but together as a community, it’s entirely achievable. Not everyone may have time to contribute, and that’s perfectly fine. For those who can, I’d like to share a few ideas inspired by successful examples from other DAWs:

Videos (Reference: https://www.reaper.fm/videos.php) Videos are often the primary source of inspiration and learning for many users. A well-crafted series of tutorial videos can make the difference between “meh” and “hmm... let’s give this a shot.” Reaper excels at this, and so can we. A comprehensive video series would significantly lower the entry barrier for newcomers, which is exactly what we need.

Manual (Reference: https://www.bitwig.com/userguide/latest/) While documentation might be a developer's nightmare, it's essential for quick reference checks. Bitwig's user guide provides an excellent example of what we could achieve.

Sharing Platform (Reference: https://lmms.io/lsp/) Few things excite a newcomer more than discovering a useful template or preset. It’s a surefire way to spark interest! While MuLab has a library, it’s not particularly user-friendly. LMMS’s sharing platform is a shining example of how a community can grow by sharing its own work. Search their platform for “What is Love” or “Mortal Kombat” and you’ll see what I mean :-)

How do we accomplish this? Through balanced workload distribution among willing volunteers. Jo, I suggest creating a private thread or Discord channel for those interested in contributing, where we can discuss specific tasks and responsibilities.

Ultimately, all of this depends on Jo’s vision for MuLab. I haven’t discussed this with him privately yet, so I may be overstepping or jumping ahead. Either way, my intent is to suggest something that I believe could benefit MuLab as a whole and to offer my support in making it happen.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
